1
What is a Heterotroph?
A heterotroph is an organism that consumes or ingests its food. A heterotroph obtains lipids, carbs, proteins and nucleic acids made by other organisms.
2
What are animals?
Heterotrophs, Eukaryotic, Multicellular organisms. Animals contain tissue.
3
Describe a eukaryote
Has nucleus, is multicellular, membrane bound organelles.
4
What is tissue?
Multiple similar/identical interconnected cells that serve the same function.
5
What process does a bastula undergo, Why?
A bastula will undergo the process of gastrulation with the main goal of forming a gastrula.
6
What does a gastrula form?
Multiple different layers (germ layers). The different layers form embryonic tissue.
7
What is a bastula?
A bastula is an animal embryo at the early stage of development when it is a hollow ball of cells.
8
What is an emergent function?
When a singular cell cannot perform a task but multiple are capable. Such as protecting, forming a barrier.
9
Describe a prokaryoteWha
Lacks nucleus, Unicellular, Has a cell wall and no membrane bound organelles.
10
True or false, Do ALL animals need to reproduce sexually?
False, some animals can undergo parthenogenesis or asexual reproduction.
11
How is a bastula formed?
After a zygote is formed it will undergo rapid cell division. The rapid cell division is called cleavage.
