1
Land Immediately
Execute a landing without delay
2
Land As Soon As Possible
Execute a landing at the first site at which a safe landing can be made
3
Land As Soon As Practicable
Extended Flight is not Recommended. The landing Site and duration of the flight are at the discretion of the PIC
4
Check
Visually observe circuit breaker condition. do not change condition
5
Pull
If circuit breaker is in, pull CB out. If CB is out, do not change condition
6
ResetNATOPS Scope
IF CB is out, push CB in. If CB is in, do not change condition.

C - Can only be reset once, can cause electrical fire
7
Cycle
If CB is in, pull CB out, and then push CB back in. If CB is out, do not change condition
8
The following shall be performed for all emergencies:
1. Maintain control of the aircraft.
2. Alert crew.
3. Determine the precise nature of the problem.
4. Complete the applicable emergency procedure or take action appropriate for the problem.
5. Determine landing criteria and land as required.
9
Warning
Explanatory information about an operating procedure, practice, or condition, etc., that may result in injury, death, or loss of aircraft if not carefully observed or followed.
10
Caution
Explanatory information about an operating procedure, practice, or condition, etc., that may result in damage to equipment if not carefully observed or followed.
11
Note
Explanatory information about an operating procedure, practice, or condition, etc., that must be emphasized.
12
Shall
when application of a procedure is mandatory
13
Should
is used only when application of a procedure is recommended.
14
May and Need Not
are used only when application of a procedure is optional.
15
Will
Indicates futurity and never indicates any degree of requirement for application of a procedure.
16
Pax Overwater at Night 1
Helicopter and Tiltrotor passenger overwater flights at night are authorized subject to the following
restrictions:

a. Ship launches and recoveries shall be made during daylight hours. This constraint may be waived
by the Strike Group Commander, Amphibious Squadron commander, Marine Air Ground Task (MAGTF) Commander or Officer in Tactical Command (OTC) in cases of operational necessity
17
Pax Overwater at Night 2
In cases of Medical Evacuations (MEDEVAC), a qualified medical attendant who is current in approved
water survival training (non-aircrew underwater emergency egress as a minimum training requirement),
and has been properly briefed on emergency egress procedures for that aircraft, may be transferred at
night with approval from the ship's Commanding Officer.
18
Pax Overwater at Night 3
This does not preclude troop movement in support of amphibious exercises, visit board search and
seizure (VBSS) level III operations, or SPECOPS training and operational missions.
19
Operational Necessity
A mission associated with war or peacetime operations in which the consequences of an action justify accepting the risk of loss of aircraft and crew.
20
Bingo Fuel
A minimum fuel state calculated to allow the aircraft to abort and safely land
at an authorized landing area with available approved fuel. When in route to a ship, the aircraft
shall return to a suitable alternate landing area upon reaching BINGO fuel state if any undue
delay is expected prior to landing or as directed by guidance contained within reference (a) [the wing sop].
21
risk
an expression of possible loss in terms of severity and probability
22
risk assessment
The process of detecting hazards and assessing associated risks.
23
Hazard
A condition with the potential to cause personal injury or death, property damage or mission degradation.
24
Scope of 3710
In the tactical environment, military exigency may require on-site deviations from instructions/procedures contained here. The existing risk of deviation must continually be weighed against the benefit of deviating from this manual. Deviation from specified flight and operating instructions is authorized in emergency situations when, in the judgment of the pilot in command, safety justifies such a deviation.
25
Scope / Deviation Wing SOP
The Policies and procedures set forth in these instruction support successful flight operation through standardization, hazard identification, and risk management.

This instruction is not intended to inhibit sound judgment nor does it supersede existing directives from higher authority.

The HAC retains full responsibility for the safe conduct of the mission.
26
NATOPS Scope
No Manual can address every situation completely or be a substitute for sound Judgement.

Operational situations may require modification of the procedures contained therein.

Read these products thoroughly. As an aircrew member, your responsibility is to have a complete knowledge of their contents.
27
23 SOP Scope
To support successful flight operations by addressing known hazards and incorporating sound operating principles.

They are not intended to inhibit personal initiative or suppress the sound judgement of the PIC.

If hazards have been assessed, risk can be controlled, and mission priority clearly warrants deviation.
28
Primary Fuel
A fuel that the aircraft is authorized to use for continuous unrestricted operations
29
Emergency Fuel
A fuel which may be used for a minimum time when no other primary or restricted fuel is available in case of emergency or operational necessity.
30
Restricted Fuel
A fuel that imposes operational restrictions on the aircraft
