1
What is the method for random sampling?
1. Number each member of a population.
2. Use a ramdom number generator to select a certain number of members for a sample.
2
What is statified sampling? How is it done?
It is used to select a proportional sample form each strata (group).

1. $\frac{Sample.Size}{Population.Size}$ = proportion of each group.
2. Multiply by the number members in each group and round to the nearest integer.
3
What sampling technique is this:
1. Find the interval size: $n = \frac{Population}{Sample}$
2. Use a random number as the starting position and then take every nth member for the sample.
Systematic Sampling
4
What is primary data?
Primary data is data that you collect your self. Eg. from a survey that you did.
5
What is secondary data?
Secondary data is what you collect from someone else's research. Eg. a website.
6
What does qualitative mean in terms of statistical data?
Non-numerical data, it is based on qualities such as colour.
7
What sort of data is quantitative?
Numerical data, that can be counted. Eg. age or distance.
8
What is the difference between discrete and continuous data?
Discrete is exact values which can cannot be more specific, for example the number of pens in a pot. Continuous data is data which could always be more acurate, it is measurements which are rounded, such as your height.
