Why are antibiotics stored as powders?
Powder is more stable. After water is added to the powder, the stability changes and the med might need refrigeration, a new expiration date, and a shake well sticker.

Amoxil, Augmentin, Erythromycins, Keflex, and Cefzil

Room Temperature Reconstitutable Antibiotics
Biaxin, Omnicef, Zithromax; will crystalize in the fridge - all other recons need to be refrigerated

cross sensitivity (antibiotics)
5-10% of people who are allergic to penicillins are also allergic to cephalosporins - Drs will write for erythromycins
