What is the formula for photosynthesis?
carbon dioxide + water ——> (light) glucose + oxygen
2
What do plants use glucose for?
- Respiration
- Making cellulose
- Making amino acids
- stored as oil and fat
- stored as starch

3
What affects the rate of photosynthesis?
light intesity, CO2 concentration, chlorophyll and temperature
4
What is respiration?
process of transferring energy from glucose; this is an exothermic process
5
What is aerobic respiration?
respiration with oxygen; glucose + oxygen ===> carbon dioxide + water
6
What is anaerobic respiration (in humans) ?
respiration without oxygen; glucose ===> lactic acid
7
What is anaerobic respiration (in plants and yeast)?
glucose ===> ethanol + carbon dioxide
8
What is metabolism?
total sum of chemical reactions in an organism
9
What is oxygen debt?
where your body needs an extra amount of oxygen to react with the lactic acid buildup and remove it from our cells
