waves are energy in motion. they transfer energy and information without transferring matter

The distance between two corresponding parts of a wave

The number of waves passing a point each second

Distance from top of peak to the middle

The time it takes for a source to produce one wave

It is the direction and speed a wave travels in. (affected by materials)

when waves change speed when they pass from one medium into another due to the change in density. The density effects the speed

Some waves may absorb, transmit or reflect waves which depends on their wavelength

EM waves are a group of transverse waves that can travel though a vacuum

The right hand side of the incoming wave slows down before the left hand does which causes a change in direction
