1HIP PAM's
- Options & what they are used for
Flexion - AP
Extension - PA
IR - lateral glide
Caudad - capsular tightness, unload irritable joint
2Knee PAM's
- Options & what they are used for
Flexion - AP
Extension - PA
Patellofemoral joint - caudad, cephalad, lateral, medial
3Ankle PAM's
- Options & what they are used for
AP Talocrural = Dorsiflexion
PA Talocrural = Plantarflexion
Lateral Glide Subtalar = inversion
Medial glide Subtalar = eversion
Distraction = alleviate pain
4Shoulder PAM's
- Options & what they are used for
Flexion = AP
Extension = PA
Abduction = Longitudinal caudad glide
IR = AP
ER = PA
5Elbow PAM's
- Options & what they are used for
Flexion = PA
Extension = AP
Humeroulnar = PA, caudal, med/lat glides
6Wrist PAM's
- Options & what they are used for
Flexion = Radiocarpal / Midcarpal AP
Extension = Radiocarpal / Midcarpal PA
Supination = Inferior radioulnar joint AP
Pronation = Inferior radioulnar joint PA
NOTE: You can do AP/PA on any small joint of the hand, however these are more used for range of the actual joint rather than a compound movement such as flexion.
7When a CONCAVE surface moves on a CONVEX surface, what happens and give an example
- they move in the same direction
- Example: Tibiofemoral joint AP glide will improve knee flexion
8When a CONVEX surface moves on a CONCAVE surface, what happens and give an example
- they move in opposite directions
- Example: Femoracetabulum (hip joint) AP will improve hip flexion
