3
Class B Airspace
- the busiest and the largest airport
Sectional:
- looks like a solid blue line
- looks located between surface level to 10,000ft MSL
- (#/#) seen on the sectional in this airspace respresents vertical dimensions for each area
Requirements:
- private pilot or student pilot with endorsements license
- two way radio w/ ATL
- Must have clearance to enter, meaning that ATC acknowledges your plane information '
- In the instance that an airspace needs a mode c transponder with a veil where the MCT must be used, then this class B airspace will also have a thin magenta circle around it on the sectional
Weather:
- 3 SM Visibility
- clear of any clouds
Speed Limits:
- 250 KT (within class B)
- 200 KT (below class B)

5
Class C airspace
*mostly for small but busy airports
Sectional:
- 2 solid magenta lines (VFR)
- has inner core (5nm, surface less than or equal to 4000ft AGL)
- has an inner shelf (5+ nm, 1200ft AGL less than or equal to 4000ft AGL)
- radar coverage: 20nm away from the airport
- radios can extend into class B
Requirements:
- student pilot
- mode c transponder
- 2 way radio communication (meaning ATC recognizes you and you respond to them)
Speed Limits:
- 250 KT (below 10,000ft)
- 200 KT (below 2,500ft AGL, and 4nm of class c airport)

7
Class D airspace
*quite airport
Important Information:
- does not need readar seperation
- needs control tower
- labled as a dashed blue line circle
- may be located beneath class B or C
- radius 3-7 NM
Requirements:
- student pilot
- 2 way radio communication
Weather Minimums:
- 3 sm
- 2000ft horiziontally, 1000ft above, 500ft below
Speed:
- 250 KT (In Class)
- 200 KT (4nm away from class D airport)
